Boot Season

Recently the temps were mild enough for me to break out my riding boots, and I couldn't tell you how excited I was.  I compare it to the first snowfall of the season - I get the same giddy feeling as I did  when I put on those boots!

So the weather was gross and Hubbs was hungry and cranky, so apparently after the first couple shots he gave up on getting full length photos.  And I can't say these first two shots are even full length photos.

Note to self - feed Hubbs first, then do photo shoot.  (Although I should admit, I'm a total crankypants too when I'm hungry.  Worse than he is.  So I cut him a little slack).

And can we talk about my hair?!  Actually can we not.  It is a frizzy mess.  I had just finished curling my hair when it started pouring!  And not just a little rain, I'm talking downpour.  Luckily the skies parted just long enough for a photo shoot!

This outfit ended up being perfect for the weather.  The boots kept me warm while the cap sleeves and light cotton kept me cool in the humid air.  I love the bias cut, too, and the way the fabric ruches just a bit with each cut.  It's always the simple details that I like the most!

Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself and your circumstances.  I had fun. :)
