I recently received the ginger pomelo candle from Caldrea for review and, of course, it was love at first sight. The candle is gorgeous. I love the hint of light that you see through the clean, frosted glass. It is so chic and perfect for any room.
And the scent is heavenly. The pomelo (a citrus fruit) gives the candle a fresh, lightly citrus scent, while the ginger adds warmth. Basil and grapefruit essential oils give the scent some lift and complexity. The candle is not too citrusy, not too warm, rather a perfect blend of the two to create a beautiful, fresh scent with some depth, perfect for any season.
Looks aside, I wanted to give an informed review, so I tested the candle for a couple of weeks in different rooms of my house to get a good feel for the strength of the scent and the burning time.
I first tried this candle in my home office, and it filled the room with its fresh scent without being overpowering. A few days later, I brought the candle down to my living room to try it out there. The first floor of my house is open-concept, so I wanted to see if the scent would still hold up in a larger space. Although, as expected, the frangrance didn't have the same strength as it had in the office, it still left a light, lingering essence of ginger pomelo, even after I blew the candle out.

Burning time according to the packaging is 40 hours. This seems pretty accurate, as it took just about 20 hours of burning time to reach the halfway point.
Finally, let's talk packaging. Not that a box should really matter but it does! It's SO pretty and would make a perfect hostess or housewarming gift rapped in clear or white striped cellophane with a pretty ribbon.
