With the end of 2012 rapidly approaching, I'm reflecting on a lot of what I loved this year. Today, I want to share with you some of my personal favorite beauty products of 2012, narrowed down to the makeup category, as this list could get pretty long otherwise! This includes obsessions that I've been using forever (and may never stop), as well as new products that I've fallen head over heels for.
1. Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation ~ This lightweight formula delivers on coverage, providing a flawless appearance without a "makeupy" feel.
2. Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35 ~ Out of all the BB Creams I've tried, this one provides the most natural color and coverage, perfecting the skin's appearance while moisturizing and reducing shine at the same time.
3. Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat ~ This can be used as a concealer or a highlighter; perfects and brightens the skin and erases any signs of fatigue.
4. bareMinerals Prime Time Eyelid Primer ~ Hands down the best eyelid primer I have tried; grabs on to shadow and keeps it from creasing, smearing or fading.
5. NARS Cosmetics The Multiple ~ These multi-purpose cream sticks deliver as blush, bronzer, highlighter, and can even be used as lip or eye color. Perfect for the girl on the go.
6. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar ~ I personally love the Hoochie color (a bright fuchsia) but any color you choose will moisturize, smooth and soften lips like a gloss while leaving a fabulous dose of color like a creamy lipstick, and it will last and last.
7. Too Faced Borderline Smoothing, Anti-Feathering Lip Pencil ~ Translucent so the color of your lipstick shines through; prevents bleeding, feathering, and lasts all day!
8. Lancome Rouge in Love Lipstick in Sequence of Love ~ The perfect, classic red in a creamy formula that lasts and lasts.
9. Dior DiorShow Mascara ~ This mascara brings the glamour with tons of show-stopping volume. It's been on my favorites lists for years (and probably will remain for a long time to come).
10. Urban Decay Cosmetics Naked 2 Palette ~ I have both Naked and Naked 2, and Naked 2 is by far my favorite, with 12 neutral but different shades it can provide looks from a smoky eye to shimmery glam to daytime chic, and even create a flawless no-makeup look. This palette wins beauty product of the year in my book!

I couldn't live without Smashbox Primer. Seriously I've lost count of how many compliments I've gotten on my skin since starting to use it and have turned so many friends onto it too! You've got some great picks too. The NARS stick is awesome and the Smashbox BB cream too.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll have to try The Multiple and mascara! I love testing out mascaras :) I think Philosophy's grace lotion and body wash are my favorite beauty buys of the year. The fresh scent lasts ALL.DAY.LONG.

My favorite products for 2012 have been the Moroccan Shampoo from Organix, Dove leave in spray, and high beam from benefit. I also love the Naked palettes. I had the original and then I bought 2 this year.

ReplyDeleteMe to Benefit's Hi Beam!
I just got Naked 2 for Christmas, since I was obsessed with Naked! Trying it tonight for NYE! Happy New Year's Eve, Niki!
ReplyDeleteI refuse to try anything else but Diorshow. Does that make me a mascara snob?
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to decide on a BB Cream for long and have just given up. Might have to try this one!
ReplyDeleteI have heard SO much about the Naked Palette, I will definitely try the second one at your suggestions:) I love their liners, too!
ReplyDeleteI just got the Naked Pallette for Christmas and I am obsessed, I know I will have to go get the Naked 2 soon! I LOVE the Smashbox BB cream I bought it and absolutely adore it. I am a total mascara hoarder and I have heard many good things about the Diorshow mascara I think I might have to try. My fave right now is actually Maybelline the falsies... Works great for me! :) Great post!
ReplyDeleteThe Naked 2 palette is gorgeousness itself!! Happy New Year to you from over in England! Xx
ReplyDeleteMy 2 favorites are: Benifet Mascara Elf Eyeshadows and Healthy Sexy Hair leave in Conditioner. Made from soy its not tested on animals and made from natural ingredients. It makes my hair amazing. You do not need any other conditioner. Its over 15.00 for a small bottle but lasts all year. I am lusting after a Urban Decay pallete !!
ReplyDeleteI could not agree more on that Dior mascara, tho I wish it wasn't so expensive!
ReplyDeleteHere's to a healthy and happy 2013!
