Hubby and I have started looking at houses to buy, and with that come many dreams of new home decor. I realize that I can't have everything my way (although I try... Lord knows I try), and we can't live in separate houses, but nonetheless I have been pinning lots of fabulous inspiration!
I like to keep my decor clean and elegant, with a touch of glamour. I'm partial to all - or mostly - white with touches of color (think pink, coral, peach). Hubby has more of a cigar bar aesthetic; rich woods and leathers in darker neutrals and autumn tones. See the clash here?
We do come together on a love for rustic accents and unexpected details, however. So there is hope for compromise! Somehow, we will make it work (and hopefully I'll get my way, or mostly my way).

I'm terrified of white because I'm notorious for spilling (red) wine everywhere. My house is really mix-matched . . . lots of color, lots of patterns, but nothing really "matches" so to speak. I like eclectic decor!

ReplyDeleteWe built our home five years ago and I'm so tired of the decor already. But can't seem to justify re-doing the whole house (or afford that!). I've just been transitioning a little at a time. My hubby and I have the same taste for the most part, thankfully.

Just yesterday I was bragging to my hubs how chic and clean white and clear (with a tad of pink maybe) would look for our house. totally in love with the kitchen and pictures on the wall in the dining room! we can do this... convincing our hubs as a team of support :)
