As you may know, I recently traveled to Chicago with my sister-in-law, Molly (love her!). We had such an amazing time, both attending the BlogHer Conference and exploring the city! I thought I’d put together a little recap of our trip in photos!
If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you may have seen a few of these already. I apologize in advance for using my iPhone, but I was just not lugging my DSLR on the plane from Boston! So let’s get to it, shall we?We arrived safely in Chicago… and of course I had to take a plane and hotel pic, plus the gorgeous view of the city from our hotel room:
Once we got settled, we were off to walk around Chicago. We got suckered into getting our makeup done at the Dior counter in Saks (life is so hard), then stopped for lunch at Giordano’s. This was my first time eating real Chicago-style deep-dish pizza and it was amazingggg. I am seriously going to start having their pizzas shipped to me. So, so good.
We also took a boat tour of the Chicago River that pointed out the city’s beautiful architecture and some of the history behind it.
At some point, we ended up stopping in the Peninsula Hotel as well; mainly just to stare open-mouthed at it’s beauty. Holy beauty. We took a pic in one of the nicest bathrooms I’ve ever been in (not going… gross!), and checked out the gift shop.
We then headed back to our hotel to get ready for BlogHer’s Night at the Expo…
…where that happened. Yessiree, I put on a raincoat and took a photo with the Gorton’s Fisherman (their Garlic & Herb Breaded Fish Fillets are really good, by the way). I also got my hair done by the girls at the Best Buy booth (who knew Best Buy carried hair tools?!!) and learned how to properly tone my sweet guns over at the Coca-Cola booth.
Seriously, though, I got to meet so many amazing representatives from incredible brands, which was hands-down the best part of the expo!
We passed out at, like, 9 PM that night. It was a long day! Plus, that’s 10:00 PM Boston time, which is about two-hours after my bed time. Kidding!
Then we got up super early the next morning for a little yoga action in Millennium Park!
Thank you so much to Yasso Greek Frozen Yogurt for hosting us (we got to try some of their frozen yogurt bars after our yoga sesh, and they were SO good)! And please don’t mind how completely busted up I look. Despite what the weather was doing to my hair (yup, totally putting that blame on the weather, not the fact that I didn’t feel like brushing it), I had to take a photo with one of the adorable sculptures in the park! Too cute!
And, we can’t forget the reason why I was in Chicago in the first place… BlogHer! I got to meet two of my favorite bloggers – Natalia of Ma Nouvelle Mode (top left) and Amanda of The Pretty Pinhead (bottom right)!
Excuse the blurry pic – iPhone problems :)
I walked away armed with new blogging knowledge, and some new found relationships with bloggers and brand representatives!
Since we couldn’t stay in town for the Ulta Fashion Show on Saturday night, we decided to do it up on Friday – complete with drinks at The Terrace at Trump Hotel and a rooftop dinner at NoMI. Both were absolutely incredible, by the way.
And no trip to Chicago is complete without a trip to Greektown! At least for me, given that I, myself, am a Greek.
I loved the little columns everywhere! And Greek Walgreen’s because… well… Greeks.
So that’s it! Whew!
What a trip! I have completely fallen in love with Chicago and I cannot wait to go back some day!
