It’s time to reveal my July Glossybox!
In case you’re new to Glossybox, it’s a monthly beauty subscription service. For a fee of $21/month (or even less if you sign up for multiple months), you get 5 or 6 travel-sized beauty samples shipped right to your door. It’s always so much fun to get a surprise box of goodies in the mail, and the samples are always from great brands such as Tarte, Zoya and Philip B. Oftentimes, there’s even 1 or 2 full-sized products. Good deal! This month’s theme, Le Grand Bleu, was an homage to the deep blue ocean, with products perfect for the beach and beyond.

Figs & Rouge Cherry Blossom Lip Balm* ($8.17 / 12.5 fl oz Original Size)
I recently discovered this lip balm through Beautyhabit.com earlier in the summer, and I’ve been obsessed with it. So I was thrilled to receive another full-size tube in my Glossybox this month. This balm is super emollient and keeps my lips feeling soooo soft. The cherry tint (which is the tint I received, and also the same tint I already own) gives the lips a pretty, natural looking flush. Plus, these balms are 100% natural, which is an added bonus!
Bulgari Eau Parfumee au the Blanc Shampoo & Shower Gel ($42.00 / 6.8 fl oz Original Size)
The scent of this shampoo/shower gel is the same scent of the Bulgari Tea Bag for Bath that I received in a previous Glossybox, and it is incredible. I actually use the tea bath satchet in my closet to keep it smelling fresh (thanks to my friend Maureen for the tip!) and every time I walk in there, I want to stay for hours. It’s just a really fresh, powdery and almost… lightly herbal scent (white tea, perhaps?). I haven’t tried this as a shampoo; however when used as a body wash, it feels completely rich and luxurious. The scent is not overpowering, but soft, and lingers for quite some time. I will definitely be purchasing the full size product – it’s that good!
Nails, Inc. Baker Street Nail Polish ($9.50 / 10ml Original Size)
I have to admit, I was a little disappointed to see that I didn’t receive a full size of this product, since nail polishes are not generally expensive, and every other nail polish I’ve received in a Glossybox has been full-size. That said, I love Nails, Inc. polishes – they’re generally high quality and last quite some time. And I love the cobalt shade of this particular one! It’s so pretty, and perfect for summer.
Dr. Brandt BB Matte with Signature Shinerase ($39.00 / 1 fl oz Original Size)
Here I go… I’m going to say it. I’m kind of tired of the whole BB Cream (CC Cream… DD Cream…) hype. They’re great – don’t get me wrong – but I have gotten soooo many different ones in so many subscription boxes that I’m a little BB Creamed out. Anyway, this particular one is oil-free and contains mattifying ingredients to ward off shine, plus SPF 30. The shade I received (light-to-medium) was perfect for my skin tone and the product blended well and evened out my complexion nicely. It also felt very light in texture compared to many of the other BB Creams I’ve tried. My skin is combination-to-dry, so I don’t get super oily, but I did notice less shine in my T-zone while wearing it. Ok, Dr. Brandt, you got me on this one. It’s a keeper.
Absolute! Make-up Cleansing Tissues ($6.99 / 60 Count Original Size)
These cleansing tissues are perfect for the beach, the gym, travel.. you name it. And they’re water-based, with all natural ingredients so they’re super gentle. They claim to remove even waterproof mascara and eyeliner while refreshing and hydrating the skin. Well, I put one of these babies to the test and they did a pretty good job of removing my makeup, but I did have to rub a bit to get all of my mascara (which, I should add, was not waterproof) off. As for hydration, my skin is on the dry side (as I stated above), so I do need added moisturizer. There are some other makeup cleansing wipes that I prefer over these, but they’re decent!
Brazilian Blowout Acai Deep Conditioning Masque ($40.00/ 8 fl oz Original Size)
I’ve used Brazilian Blowout products in the past as support for the Brazilian Blowouts and other keratin treatments I get on a fairly regular basis, but I’ve never tried the deep conditioning masque, so this was a nice surprise. This product is marketed as an intense reconstructor that smooths, improves strength, adds moisture and shine, and provides UVA/UVB protection. I’m looking forward to trying this masque to rehab my hair after a beach day!
