Can I just start off by saying that the Nordstrom at South Shore Plaza is beautiful?! It is so open, so clean, and the layout is just incredible. Plus, every single staff member I’ve ever come into contact with has been so nice and so helpful. It is definitely one of my favorite Nordstroms, and even though it’s a bit of a hike for me (I live north of Boston, this Nordstrom is located south of Boston), you can bet I will be back to visit as much as possible.
I’m getting off subject here (shocking, I know). The event!
I was asked to arrive a couple of hours early to get my makeup done and curate the pop-up boutique that would be in the “Glossy Blonde” section of the event. Micaela, the artist from MAC who had done my makeup for the Fashion Faceoff photos, completely relaxed my nerves and made me feel absolutely beautiful.
I then headed up to the event location to meet with my stylist, Karla (who I also love dearly), who was there to help me choose items for my pop-up shop. We took a walk around the store and leave it to me – I ended up putting my sizes aside in the items I chose as we went. I bought two of them at the end of the night, too. Typical.
(that’s karla – heart her!)
Soon after, the event began!
Nordstrom hired a DJ to get people in the party mood, and there were a number of different areas for guests to peruse – makeover stations, which included a lash bar, lip bar, hair bar, and nail polish station, a photo booth (because photo booths are awesome), and of course, the pop-up shops curated by Windsor (my opponent, of Her Campus) and myself.
Food and drinks were also served via carts rotating around the event. The food was amazing. I had the most heavenly lobster roll, an amuse bouche size hamburger topped with a quail egg (everyone seemed to agree that that was the winner!), a watermelon and goat cheese roll-up, and – get this – lemon lavender vodka popsicles. Um, nom.
There was much more food than that, but you get the idea! I need to hire that caterer for my life. The food was that good.
champagne in a can?! who knew.
Guests who registered also got a swag bag full of goodies, and were entered into a raffle to win a $100 Nordstrom Gift Card – my mom was actually one of the winners! So random! Near the end of the event, everyone gathered around and the winner of the YOUphoria Fashion Faceoff was announced.
I bet you’re on the edge of your seat wondering who won. (No? Well, if you follow me on social media, you already know. But I was on the edge of my seat! I actually had a knot in my stomach the entire week leading up to the event – I was so nervous.) But, if you haven’t already heard…
I won!!! I still can’t believe I’m writing that!

I am so grateful to every single one of you for your support, and of course to Nordstrom and Glam Media for providing me with this amazing opportunity. I am over the moon!
This has been such an incredible experience and I am so thankful to have been a part of it. I’ve gotten to meet some amazing people through the course of this event as well (Micaela, Karla, Stefanie, Sarah, Katie and Jamie, to name a few!), and that just made the entire experience even better. And of course, I can’t forget Windsor. I loved having the opportunity to meet her and get to know her at the event!
And again, a huge thank you to YOU for your support and your continued readership! This couldn’t have happened without you!
