I recently received Essie Peak of Chic nail polish (from the “Encrusted” Collection) as a gift, and looking at the gorgeous white flakes and holographic glitter in the bottle made me long for snow. Well, we got the snow (and I’m over it now), but I still thought it would be fun to paint my nails in a manner that reminded me of snowflakes!
Baker Street is a creamy, opaque polish that applied quite nicely and evenly with the first coat, although I found that a second coat was necessary to deepen the hue and bring the polish to full opacity.
Peak of Chic is a glitter polish in a translucent emulsion, so it is best to dab on rather than brush. I found that when I brushed the polish on, the glitter spread out and the white fringey pieces all ended up in the same direction. When I dabbed, however, the polish took on a more blizzardy dimension, which I loved.
I have now had this combo on my nails for 10 days and I have experienced zero chipping and just some minor wear on the tips (mostly from typing). Not too shabby! I must point out that I always use a good base and top coat, and wait in-between coats to allow for some drying – I really think these steps help the polish last!
