This post has nothing to do with actual juice. Or steroids, for that matter. Ewww. Today, I’m reviewing a few of the products I recently purchased from Juice Beauty!
Juice Beauty is a line of authentically organic, clinically validated skincare products. I’ve been worried about toxins in my beauty products and wanted to go with a more natural approach to skincare overall since discovering Skin Deep (a database that lists the toxicity levels for many beauty products on the market).
With the news of my pregnancy, I wanted to switch to a skincare line that was non-toxic to my developing baby, and Juice Beauty came highly recommended among moms and expecting moms alike! I’ve been using these products for a few weeks now, so I could really get a good impression of how they work with my skin prior to reviewing them on this here blog for you. In this post, I’ll share with you the products that I purchased, along with my thoughts on each!
This cleanser is creamy and soothing, and it contains pineapple enzymes and melting jojoba beads for super gentle exfoliation. I use it every morning before applying eye cream and moisturizer. t’s soap free, too, so it’s non-irritating (see: great for my sensitive skin).
I use this cleanser every night after removing my makeup. It has a milky consistency (hence the name) which helps to balance my combination-to-dry skin, and it’s nice and gentle. It claims to actually remove make-up as well, but I don’t find that it completely removes my makeup. I still use a separate makeup remover (I usually just swipe on some coconut oil or Bioderma) prior to cleansing. But I do love this cleanser!
I freaking LOVE this stuff. It claims to hydrate, smooth fine lines and brighten the eye area, and it does the job and does it well! This is one of the best eye creams I have ever used, and I’ve used a slew of eye creams from light to heavy duty, even some with retinol (for my fine lines). This has given me the best results of all of them and it may very well be nearing ‘holy grail’ status for me.
Juice Beauty claims that this moisturizer hydrates and balances the complexion while leaving skin with a beautiful, matte finish. The moisturizer itself is thicker than I had imagined (I usually think of oil-free moisturizers as very light), but that is great for me since my skin is on the drier side. It definitely hydrates and balances my skin nicely. There is no SPF in it, so I can use it for both day and night. I don’t believe it leaves my skin matte, but it definitely does not leave my skin greasy – just perfectly hydrated. And it has a very light citrus scent, which I like!
I love the idea of an all-natural, organic CC cream, so although the reviews on this product were meh, I wanted to try this out. But honestly, it’s pretty in line with the reviews. Meh. It has a pretty thick consistency and it’s pretty hydrating, so it could take the place of an everyday moisturizer, but the coverage is just not there. I gave this a good go, too. Even though I didn’t like it, I used it pretty much every day straight for a month to really make sure. I think this would be best for people who already have pretty normal, even-toned skin. This CC cream also claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, firm and improve elasticity, and create a more radiant look, all of which I do believe it did. So there are pluses if you don’t need the actual color correction! I also want to mention that it has an earthy, herbal scent, which could be good or bad depending on your preference (I hated it at first, but got used to it over time).
I also want to mention that I did purchase the Blemish Clearing Serum, but stopped using it since I discovered that it contained salicylic acid, and that’s a no no for pregnancy. I don’t remember seeing anything about that when I was buying it, even though I scoured the ingredients online, so I was kind of disappointed. I wonder if the formulation randomly changed, or something. Oh well. I did use it for a week and I think it worked well on a minor hormonal breakout, but as I didn’t use it for a lengthy period of time, I can’t give a full review.
