You guys! I can’t believe I’m already 18 weeks pregnant. Time is flying by!
Before I get into the bumpdate, I want to thank all of you who left such sweet comments on my blog and social media accounts last week. I was really having a hard time accepting my changing body, and I want to let you know that your encouragement meant so much to me. I feel so much better this week, and I owe a lot of it to you. :)
Read on for my 18 week pregnancy update!
How far along: 18 weeks
How big is baby?: Sweet potato!
Weight gain: I haven’t checked, but I have a doctor’s appointment on Friday so I’ll find out then.
Symptoms: I finally have my energy back! It only took 17 weeks. ;) I’ve started working out again and it feels great. So let’s see… symptoms. I’ve been getting a little bit of back pain here and there, but nothing too crazy. Otherwise I feel really good!
Sleeping: The insomnia is back. It’s hard to blame on pregnancy because I’ve never slept well. But yeah. I guess it’s preparing me for life with an infant!
Food cravings: Nothing that stands out this week.
Food aversions: Still almonds. I don’t think I’ll ever like them again.
Wedding Rings on or off?: On.
Maternity Clothes?: I finally gave in and bought a few pairs of shorts and jeans. The moment I had to tie my shorts closed with a hair band was the kick in the butt that I needed. I’m so happy I did, too. Elastic waistbands are the most comfortable EVER. Still on my list are leggings! Oh, and I’m also wearing a maternity maxi skirt from PinkBlush Maternity in this photo! So comfy!
Movement: Yes! I can definitely feel the baby moving, especially when I’m laying in bed reading at night or in the morning. It’s SO cool!
What I did/got for baby: The Hubbs and I have started talking to Baby, now that we know Baby can hear us. I also read and sing to him/her. Starting early! :) Also, we’ve found our crib and the bedding we want, but haven’t made the purchases yet. We’ll do that soon.
What I’m looking forward to: Planning the nursery! Also, this week I started really looking forward to giving birth! Not the actual act of giving birth, but afterwards. Holding Baby in my arms, that kind of thing.
Best moment of the week: Really feeling the baby moving around! It’s funny – it’s kind of creepy to think about. Like there’s a little alien in there. Have you ever seen Spaceballs? It makes me think of the part where the alien came out of the person’s belly and started singing and dancing on the counter of the diner. Anywhooo… yeah, it may be a little weird, but it is so awesome to feel Baby in my belly!
