I realize I don’t talk too much about my hair, but my hair is one of my favorite aspects of myself, beauty-wise. Having healthy hair that looks good on an everyday basis (especially with minimal styling) is important to me. So today, I thought I’d share my favorite hair products with you!
I have mentioned the Alterna Bamboo UV+ Color Protection Vibrant Color Shampoo and Conditioner numerous times on my blog and YouTube channel, and it’s for good reason. They’re amazing! They leave my hair soft and shiny, keep my highlights glistening and prevent color from fading. These products are pricey, but worth it.
I apply Pureology Strength Cure Split End Salve to damp hair after I get out of the shower, and I feel like it’s made such a difference in the overall health of my hair. It is intended to help strengthen the hair (especially micro-scarred, chemically treated hair – hello highlights!) and prevent further damage. It also smooths the look of split ends (although nothing but trimming can actually repair split ends). It definitely lives up to its claims, and it smells good, too!
Ojon Rare Blend Oil is a newer discovery as of late 2013, but quickly became a favorite. I use just a drop while my hair is still damp and it completely eliminates frizz, adds shine, heals and protects my hair.
Prior to blowdrying, I always use my It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin. I love this stuff! I just included it in my June Favorites video, so check that out if you’d like to hear more about this product!
When I want a little bit of a beachy wave, Oribe Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray is my go-to. Not only does it smell amazing (do you see a trend here?), but it gives my hair the prettiest beachy waves while still leaving it soft and shiny. And, it can be used wet or dry which is great (versatility!).
And while we’re talking about texture, the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray is another long-time favorite. I love this for a tousled, textured look with little effort.
My favorite hairspray of ALL TIME is L’Oreal Elnett. It’s simply the best. It holds any style while still giving my hair movement. I never have helmet head. The scent isn’t the greatest ever, but I’ll take it for the incredible product!
I only wash my hair a couple of times a week, so in-between washings I use a dry shampoo. I’ve tried sooo many dry shampoos, both drugstore and high-end, and two have come out on top:
For drugstore, Batiste Dry Shampoo is the absolute best. It soaks up any excess oil and makes my hair look clean without drying it out, and I love that Batiste comes in a variety of scents, and even colors (dark for brunettes and light for blondes).
Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo is my favorite of the high-end dry shampoos. The scent is incredible (sooo fresh!) and it does the job while still being gentle. It’s talc-free and also free of parabens, sulfates, GMOs, phthalates, triclosan and synthetic dyes. I also love that this one is a powder, not a spray, so that it can easily be concentrated to the areas that need it most. Just a note, brunettes may not love this quite as much, as it is a white powder which can cast a greyish tone on darker hair, but it’s amazing for blondes or lighter brunettes!
A wide-tooth comb is essential for detangling wet hair without causing breakage. I love this one from The Body Shop.
My HANAair Hair Dryer is my lifeline. Ok, that’s a little dramatic. But it’s pretty great. It has two speed settings and three heat settings (hot, warm, cool) to help create the perfect blowout. And it has ionic technology to leave the hair smooth and soft. I did a full review on it, which you can read HERE.
I absolutely loveeee the GHD Professional 1″ Styler. It heats up to the perfect temperature so I don’t fry my hair, and it straightens beautifully. I also just learned how to curl my hair with it, and I’m obsessed! Oh, and it came with a paddle brush, too, which I now use every single day. It’s a fabulous brush for separating the hair without pulling, and also for blowing my hair straight with my HANAair!
You guys, while making this list I realized that I don’t have a great curling iron / wand! I have a couple, but don’t particularly love them. This is a travesty. I’d love your suggestions!!
