We’ve made it to 36 weeks!
According to my doctors (and depending on how testing goes this week), I will be induced at either 37 weeks or 39 weeks unless something critical happens at any time in-between. At this point, I know he’s healthy, he’ll just be small. So if he decides it’s time now (I’ll be 37 weeks later on this week), or in 2 1/2 weeks from now, I’m good with that.
I am, however, starting to really stressed about the waiting game. Not that I would have an idea when the baby would come if there were no complications and I went into labor naturally, but the constant doctors appointments and ultrasounds and NSTs are really starting to weigh on me. I broke down in tears during my NST on Friday for no apparent reason, and I think the overall process of living appointment to appointment and the not really knowing what’s going to happen or when is taking a toll.
But again, the baby is healthy and that is ALL that I want.
Read on for my 36 week pregnancy update…
How far along: 36 weeks
How big is baby?: Approximately the size of a honeydew according to The Bump (although he’s probably smaller). Right now, the doc’s estimating my little peanut is weighing in at around 4 lbs.
Weight gain: Just under 22 pounds thus far.
Symptoms: A few Braxton-Hicks contractions, and very minor sciatica. But overall physically, I feel really good.
Sleeping: This does not happen so much anymore. I’ll fall asleep easily around 11:00 p.m. but then I wake up a couple of hours later, wide awake, and I’m up for the rest of the night. I’ve caught up on a lot of reading, though, and even took advantage of the Sephora VIB Sale at 3:00 a.m. one morning!
Food cravings: Food. In general. And coffee (decaf of course)!
Food aversions: None.
Miss anything?: I’d love a cocktail.
Gender: Tiny man.
Wedding Rings on or off?: On.
Maternity Clothes?: Still wearing quite a bit of non-maternity clothing, but as I’ve mentioned in my previous updates, I’m trying to mix in as much of my maternity clothing as possible so that I can get some wear out of it!
Movement: Yes, he’s always moving around, it seems! And he’s strong!
What I did/got for baby: The nursery is finally complete and ready for Baby’s arrival! The bassinet is set up in our bedroom, and car seats are installed in our cars. Hospital bags and baby bags are packed and by the door/in the car. And I may have bought a few more baby outfits. ;) And hangers – I went back to Babies R’ Us THREE TIMES to buy additional sets of hangers. #oops
What I’m looking forward to: Baby.
Best moment of the week: Seeing the big kick from Baby on our ultrasound, and feeling it at the same time. It was really cool! Also, just the feeling of finally being done with the nursery and the house in preparation for baby. Now I can (try to) relax and enjoy whatever time I have left before he makes an appearance.
