Noah turned 4 months old on March 23rd! I cannot believe it’s already been 4 months. The time has flown by, but oddly enough, it feels like he’s been around forever. Although our lives have changed in so many ways since having a baby (for example, I didn’t go back to work, and there’s also the whole having to bring the baby with you when you run out on a whim thing…), he fits so well into our lives that it’s become completely natural to have him with us.
He is my little buddy these days! We go everywhere together – we run errands, shop, grab coffee, even go out to eat! I was so, so nervous taking him out to dinner the first time – we had tried lunch once when he was 2 months old and he started crying as we were paying the bill. I was really embarrassed! But since then, we eased in by going to breakfast on weekends and finally after a few weeks tried dinner in a decent restaurant, and he was very well-behaved for all of these excursions! I know it won’t be a walk in the park every time, but I’m glad that we got over the hurdle and had some good experiences.
Sleepwise, he has been fabulous! We have been extremely lucky in that department. He did hit the 4 month sleep regression right on time, but he’s able to soothe himself back to sleep with no problem. I’ve only had to get up a couple of times over the last week to help him, and he’s gone back to sleep within a minute. We are so thankful for that!!
However, from about 1.5 months through 3 months, he struggled with terrible reflux. He’s generally a very happy baby, and remained that way… as long as he wasn’t eating. He would scream through feedings. It was awful! But once he hit about 14 weeks, his reflux subsided. Thank goodness!
Our only issue nowadays is that he has started teething. I can tell that he’s in a bit of pain, but he seems to be doing well with it so far. I know it’s just the beginning, though, so we’ll take it one day at a time. I do have to say, his Nuby teething toys are helping so, so much! I’m working on reviewing a couple of them, so keep an eye out for those if you’re interested.
Playing with his toys
Shoving everything in his mouth
The dogs and cat
Feeling different textures
The ladies! This kid is such a flirt.
Rolling over (stomach to back)
Talking to himself in the mirror
The first few minutes after waking up from a daytime nap (crankyyyy)
I’ve decided to start posting updates monthly for those of you who are interested, including friends and family who are not on Facebook. So check back in a few weeks for his 5 month update!
In the meantime, can somebody please just pause time?!
