Happy Father’s Day to the greatest Dad in the whole entire world!
And to my fabulous hubby from our pets :)Continue Reading…
This week we did some more grilling (this time with a little less meat and a few more peppers)…
…saw a really beautiful thunderstorm roll out…
… and bought a peace lily for the house.
I named him Steven.
I took a break from baking due to a seemingly endless amount of schoolwork, but this weekend my baking will be back in full force and effect. I can’t wait – it’s kind of therapeutic for me.
I had originally planned on baking a delicious take on strawberry shortcake (cookies!) and mailing them in a cute package to my Dad for Father’s Day (they’re his favorite), but I realized as I was getting the ingredients together that the heavy cream wouldn’t hold up too well in a UPS box for a day and a half.
On to Plan B… a delivery of Crumbs Cupcakes (his other favorite).
I saved the strawberry shortcake cookies for this weekend, so I guess the hubby, my friends and I will just have to eat them ourselves. Darn. (Recipe post to come)
I had a great week!
My brother got married on Saturday and I officially have the greatest sister I could have ever hoped for. They are now in Greece for their honeymoon then heading to London on the way home. I can’t wait until they get back!
I also received my Glossybox (check out yesterday’s review post here) and got to experiment with all of the fun products.
I also discovered Instagram. Well, not really ‘discovered’; more like ‘actually figured out how to use’. So ok, discovered. I’m having so much fun with it!

My mother emailed me this picture the other day. It’s a photo of Mystic Diner in Somerville, MA, taken sometime in the late 1950s.
My grandfather and his brother owned Mystic Diner when my mom was growing up. The diner was taken over by eminent domain by the state when they were constructing Rt. 93 into Boston.
